How to get your PMP Certification
To obtain your PMP certification, you must follow five steps.
Preparation: Audits & Prerequisites
To be eligible for the PMP certification exam, you must meet one of these requirements:
A 4-year degree
36 months of experience in project administration
35 hours of project management education/training, or a CAPM Certificate
OR
A high school diploma or associate degree
60 months of experience in project administration
35 hours of project management education/training, or a CAPM Certificate
PMP exam fees are $405 for Project Management Institute members, and $555 for non PMI Members. The membership fee is $139. You confirm that all information is correct and that your application will be accepted for any audit by the organization.
Randomly selected audits are made. You will be notified by email if you are selected. You have up to 90 days from the date that you receive the notice for the following:
Copies of your diploma/global equivalent
Signatures of supervisors and managers for projects recorded under the experience verification subsection
You must submit with your application copies of any certificates or letters from training institutions pertaining to professional education hours in order to meet the requirements.

Within five to seven business days, you will receive feedback. After you have passed the PMP exam, you can apply.

Schedule, Take, Pass, and Recommend Your PMP Exam
You can take the project management professional exam online or in-person. Once you have secured a time and location, you will have one-year to pass your PMP exam.
There are 180 questions in the PMP exam. The exam can be completed in just three hours and fifty minutes. There are also 10-minute breaks. You will see your results immediately after you have completed the online PMP exam.
A passing score will allow you to use your new credential immediately. You can also add your name to the Certification Registry. Then, you will be granted a digital copy your certificate that you can download.
If you fail your first PMP exam, you can retake it up to three more times. If you fail the first three exams, you can only apply for another PMP exam. The re-examination fee for each additional attempt is $275 for PMI Members and 375 for Non-members as of January 2022.
